I am looking for a Dummies guide to scangauge. I have purchased the device but am clueless on how to use it most efficiently to hypermile. I live near Lexington, KY and am wondering what the closest hypermile group is and how I could contact the leader. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kathy:

___To start, hit the red home button. Then push the button next to gauges. This will display your default gauges.

___From there, cycle any of the four white button to display what you want. For a beginner, I suggest the mpg (instantaneous fuel economy) and avg for your (average fuel economy over your current trip).

___You will see the instantaneous fluctuate as you slow down, accelerate, climb hills and descend down the same. This is the feedback that will allow you to change your driving habits in order to improve your fuel economy.

___The AVG is a way of “keeping score”. From point A to point B you may have achieved 38 mpg as an example. If you want to better that on your next trip, you have that “score” to shoot for. These two are very basic gauges and the way to use them.

___I hope that helped and I am sorry I did not catch this thread earlier :(

___Good Luck

___Wayne
