A couple of weeks ago I was headed to NY for a convention, down
I-84 and 91 through CT. So there I am on 84, approaching Hartford.
A mostly-unmarked CT statie vehicle came down an on-ramp behind me,
crossed over, and gunned it up the left lane. His progress was
evidently impeded by another driver just tooling along minding his
own business too, who just happened to be in the left lane for
a pass at the time, at which point the statie's conduct became
unworthy of the professional standards we expect from those
entrusted to serve and *protect*:

.
About half an hour later I stopped at the conveniently located
"public safety building" down I-91 a ways in Middletown. After
showing the desk guard the picture on the back of the camera,
they called someone and a supervisor of some sort came downstairs
and took a full report from me -- we could even make out the
plate on the car at full zoom-in, and she said that they don't
condone such behavior [esp. in non-emergency situations, i.e. the
car in question certainly didn't have any flashies on] and that
she would definitely find out who it was and follow up on it.
