Hello,
This is a very interesting and informative website, I'm glad I found it!
I drive a 2007 Honda Fit and have been looking for ways to increase mileage;
have pumped up the tires, made a set of wheel pants for the rear wheel openings, installed a Scan Gauge II; am experimenting with driving style adjustments; it's all helping, although i don't expect to achieve the levels of efficiency that some hybrids do!

It all depends on your situation. I'm sure you will do better than some hybrid drivers and worse than others. for instance. Look at my mileage vs. diamondlarrys. I think he gets better mileage than me pretty much every day.

Welcome Jimbo7! Keep in mind that Tom said something very important, "It all depends on your situation." I would venture a guess that if Tom and I traded commutes things would be much different. I have been behind the wheel of several different hybrids(very limited amounts of time-for now;) ) and what I have learned is that you can acheive hybrid mileage in a non-hybrid but it is much harder and requires a lot of dedication. Good luck on your quest for mileage. There is a lot to learn here.
Welcome Jimbo7. I'd sure like a peek at those wheel covers. How did you do that?
I drive a Chevy Aveo. Fits give me fits in the MPG department. I do my best, but some of you guys beat me all the time. Notice I said "some." Some aren't as far along as others. Most probably don't have a ScanGauge yet. So here you are, already highly motivated and capable.
We will all enjoy hearing about your progress. Your Fit is an excellent platform, but I understand it isn't well suited to high MPG at high MPH due to high RPM. (But no car is really very well suited to high MPG at high MPH, so you will do very well indeed.)
