It threw up on it's self today. Out of the blue. The dash lit up like a nightmare. Brake failures, air bag failures, IMA failures, Check engine light, Blinking light in drive, VSA light. The car would have you believe a flat bed was in your future. I fas it, rebooted checked the SG. No codes. It drove fine. Got home. Let the car set and over a hours time with 4 restarts all idiot lights cleared. Looking at the dash,,, you would have expected it to explode. The whole time it was in defcon 10 you would have thought it was dead meat. It even stopped reporting mpg and the bar scale stopped working. But the SG kept doing its job.

Its a strange little car!!!!! thank God my MZ3 is a real car. I think everybody should pay us for O-Bummer Honda care. I want a 2 trillion mile warranty on it. And its health care VAT proof. :)

Wired car.....

DEFCON 1 is actually bad. The scale only goes to 5 (world peace). 10 would be totally wrong. Also, they've stopped using the DEFCON scale as well. :)

Sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope you don't have any "spooks" waiting in it after all the repairs...

Hi Jeff;

Check your 12V battery and 12V sub-system. The symptoms you report are rather common especially when the 12V voltage level is too low on start-up. If this is the case, you also need to do a full power reset to fully reset all the modules and their states.

Cheers;

It lit up like a x-mas tree while driving with the pack full at least 10 miles into the drive. The funny thing is,,, and I hate to say this. But it drove better when being sick. The CVT worked better, The ICE worked better it did not use as much asst. unless you asked for it. Then it came on and did what was needed. It recharged better. Not to mention the SG reported 70 mpg for the drive home while the cars mpg stuff would not work and was not reported after the car slowly restored it's self. A and B mpg where gone concerning the current tank and segment.

I pulled it into my shop at work today and pulled the 12v. Its checks out fine. No dead cells and fully charged.

Once we got home last evening I let the car set for 15 mins then started. A few cleared. I did that three more times and they all cleared. It's like nothing ever lit up. And the SG never reported a code. Not a one. But it kept right on working the whole time the car thought it was going to make my call a tow truck.

As I mentioned above. The car did drive much better IMHO. The CVT was much more aggressive. It's like the ICE woke up from it's slumber and remembered it was a Honda engine. Watch me flex and get good mpg. The brake pedal firmed up and felt much more responsive. And a real nice thing is it would go into auto stop much faster.

Wayne,,,,, watching flat white paint dry is more fun than driving the poor HCHII. It gets great mpg! Once you have mastered it's go slow pedal it's a snore.

I get to drive the MZ3 Friday. :D Wife is off. So there is a GOD after all. I figure I will get 40 to 45 mpg out of it without trying hard. It has this thing in the car you have to row through gears. Three pedals down there in the foot well. OOOO my!!!! You have to make it do this fas thing. It has these disc things behind the wheels that really do something. And it fears nothing. Those twisty things in the road. It eats them up! That round thing hanging off the dash is wonderful!!!!!

Be good folks
