Time change = :( I was running late, so traffic was worse. Still, I only had one case of obvious hand-flapping. Hands off the wheel in a W shape as if to say "what are you doing" as I rolled slowly to a red light - which turned green before I got there. :D

74.8 mpg / 10.5 miles / 47 degrees.
Tank is at 69.4 / 480 miles.

Finally warming up here. We fell back to the high 60s/low 70s (high for the day) for a while there. Today it was 55 on the way in and should hit 85 for the high. Warming up quicker than I would like, but had my best on the way in at 59MPG. Should be good commute on the way home and I have my water bottle so I do not have to bother with the AC.

Larry, you're coming up quick! You'll toast me once those batteries get installed!

I had to stop for a fill today after work. I only got a month out of this one, but I did drive more than I usually do. I've decided to play hooky from Choir practice tonight. :o Hey! It is St. Patrick's Day after all!

56F, 9mph cross/headwind from the W, sunny:

99.1mpg for 25.8mi (Work to Costco for gas)
105.9mpg for 2.4mi (Costco to home)

The tank is currently at 105.9mpg over 2.4mi with all 20 bars showing on the fuel gauge.

Day Total: 97.9mpg over 51.1mi

The FCD was a little low this time... it showed 88.1mpg but the fill yielded a very nice 89.7mpg! :) My lifetime average is still safely above 90mpg and I should be able to start pulling it back up now. I tried to stuff the tank but Blue Swayed just didn't want to cooperate. I only got another 0.95g into her... <shrug> Oh well. I'll try again next time.

I refueld today also. :) I go in and pay cash and they had said that the regular was running slow. gee thnx, I thought mayeb cause tanks was getting low and i'd get a bunch of trash now. When i started pumping the pump was going fine for me. sg still showing 5-6 mile under what the odometer reads over a full tank, need to find someway to check my road speed.

sg was showing 41.1- 9.60 gas and 395 miles driven. odometer read 400.5 and gas pump showd 9.62.

tried a new route home and crossing it off my list. end up stopp at the light ( there one accel from a stop) then when i make the u-turn there tarffic and had to wait ( there's #2 accel from a stop) I'll still to my shopping center loop. once easter comes traffic thins out some and will be able to extend my glides some more.

Man... what a weird combination of situations on the way to work this morning! I had sections where I could do full coast to stop runs I've never been able to to do before because of traffic... and then ridiculous levels of traffic tripping the lights (red :() in other places. Crazy. I was up to nearly 98mpg at about 7mi into the trip this morning but then 3 lights in a row knocked me back to 91.8mpg. :p I kept having experiences like that the whole drive!

41F (36F windchill), 9mph cross/headwind from the SW, overcast:

98.4mpg for 22.7mi (Home to work)

The tank is down to 98.9mpg over 25.2mi

71.6 home last night, 60 degrees with a headwind

Higher than usual winds and pesky traffic kept me from being able to get some great numbers. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. I had 35F this morning and it got up to 63F this afternoon. The wind has been NW@ 10-15 mph with gusts to 25+ mph.

Well, that was interesting. Significantly colder today and though I had a tailwind, my route is only roughly SE in the morning. There are plenty of places where a significant NW wind is a hindrance. :p Regardless, I had to do my best on this trip as the wind isn't supposed to abate this afternoon and even a crosswind is preferable to a headwind. :(

34F (24F windchill), 17-24mph tailwind from the NW, overcast:

101.5mpg for 22.7mi (Home to work)

I calculate I'll need a minimum of 94mpg on the way home to maintain 100+mpg on the tank average.

My days are all messed up right now since I came in to work at 7 last night am about to leave, but an late update for me:

I filled up two days ago. you can tell the days have wormed up some since I managed a 508 mile tank at 36 mpg.

7 of my 26 miles going home ar heading north, so our 7 mph south wind will help me a bit on my way home.
I will also be able to take the better FE route home today. I have been working 3 to 11 at night, and the back roads are deer infested so I tend to avoid them at night. With 39 degrees (34 wind chill) I might even manage a 40 mpg trip home, something I haven't seen in a while.

My current tank is sitting at 36.2 mpg at 133 miles on the odometer.

Finished up the day yesterday at 71.4 mpg, 65 miles with a few short trips squeezed in. The new battery has made a big difference.

It's been hard to take the optimum FE routes latelydue to family schedules and work, but at least spring is coming!

Thanks,

still cool here but the sun is shining now and that seems to help. temp wise isn't much difference.

Tuesday and friday i leave for work at 5:10 am and might see 2-3 cars total on my way in to work. today as i was fas'ing up to my fav light it was still green and i thought i could make it through so i restarted and guess what, it went red!! There was car on side street, but his light didn't go green and 30 seconds later mine went green and while i was restarting he ran the light right in front of me! :eek. No further incidents and pulled into work and rolled lil silver back into one of my fav spots

40.6- 7.2 miles to work

sun has been shining and even tough temp wasn't much betetr thayn any other day it sitll helped and by the time i was in my loop i was seeing 42-43 mpg. coming out is the road to/from the beach and tends to be busy. It was but i managed to squeeze in and make my way home

The long awaited spring is finally coming. I could hardly ride them since the middle of December thanks to the much snow and cold. It was an unusually winter winter...
It feels so good to get back my independence... This week I'm on the bike(s) again. Temps are around zero Celsius in the mornings, it's slightly freezing at the moment. Today will be my second sub-zero ride this year. And hopefully the last. In the afternoons it's well over 10C, pure joy :)

No tank finished yet (I'm still using the one I filled on 30th of December), but it's apparent that this winter's worst will be better than any of the last winter. 3.43l/100km (68.6usmpg) if she'd say she's on reserve at the very moment I'll start her in the morning. Hm, 2 hours to try (I'm in night shift now). I'm on a shorter commute now (2*25 vs 2*60km), and tired of P&G but I still use coasting to slow down and next to no braking, and FAS before stopping at the end of the road. And I don't start her between the garage and the garden gate, that 187kg (412lbs) is not too heavy :D

From the 1st day of this year tax is higher again in Hungary (they raised it in the summer and now again) so gas is more expensive here that anytime before (including the summer of 2008). It means *doing the math* ~6.45USD/gal on today's exchange rates. I can't say I did not expect it.

Playing (again) with the thought of trying E85 - even though it's quite clear that it wouldn't have any financial advantage for me (there is a price difference which exceeds the difference in consumption but if I want to do a proper conversion to run from straight E85 the electronics and a so-special f650 fuel filter nullify the difference for about 2 years). I'm a curious one, you know...

Man, that was a challenging course. I did the best I could with steep sections on the last half of the trip there and headwinds for the the trip back along with the typical uphill section from my normal Church route home. :p

21F (13F windchill) down, 7mph tail/crosswind from the NW, clear,

89.3mpg for 29.4mi (Church to home)

This drops the tank all the way down to 93.2mpg over 153.9mi :(

RLC, you continue to impress me with that Insight :)

Anyway, I finished that tank yesterday, the average became 3.33l/100km (70.6usmpg). Still much better than last winter's ones. And I hope that spring is here in this respect too. It's probably the gas too, not just the temps, last year I experienced an instant (not gradual) increase in FE in March.
