weather all of a sudden is almost 0, with strong winds all the time, it seems. i have been having a tough time keeping the readout at 48mpg. add to that the engine light (gas cap) has been on, and now i have to take it up to the dealer saturday to $ee what's wrong.
on a related note, since i had my 60th birthday on sunday, i never will see 50s again.......:(

Hi Laurie....Sunday I will br 49, feel like 99 after the White Rock Lake Marathon, fell like I'll never make it to 50. :D
Last week my Insight got a FrostBelt muddy slim on the windows - rare for Dallas.
How do you put up with that?

Got a layer of snow here, temps in the teens at best. Even with a moderate drive (47 miles round trip) the MPG still fell, down to 31+. Blech, and it'll only get worse. Good thing I can stay at home and telecommute in via the computer the rest of the week until Friday.
Hope nothing big is wrong with your car, and Happy Belated Birthday. (Hey, you may not like them, but it beats the alternative! As my grandfather used to say.)

Hi Laurie:
___Although 50 in terms of years is one thing; we all see the occasional warm up here and there in mid winter. IIRC, the Twin Cities punched through some massive > 100 degree temps for a few days a few months ago and I bet you will see a 40 – 50 degree day now and then. Back through 50 you will go when those warm spells come though.
___And congratulations on the Birthday. Another year older is another year wiser I always say ;)
___Good Luck

I got gas right before the huge snow hit Chicagoland and the temps went from 50s to 10s. I logged the last decent tank of the year by doing that.
So far, I'm about 80 miles into this tank and fighting to get the mileage UP into the mid forties!
Two years' worth of details in my signature.

I'm doing pretty horrible. This afternoon it was cold but clear with not too much traffic and I only managed 31.x mpg. This morning was better but only because it was downhill...and only a little better. The snow tires will only hurt more once things get bad enough that I decide to bolt them up.

Happy Birthday Laurie! If only our FE always exceeded our age. That’s a new Irish blessing I just made up for you.
