I want to install a kill switch for red lights. When i turn the switch off, i want the engine to turn off and when i turn the switch back on, i want the power to return to everything so i can use the my push button i installed to re-start the engine when the light turns green. Kind of like turning the key off and back on before you re-start it.

I have been looking more into the schematics and found out what pin does what. Pin 2 (IG1) controls DRL, alternator, turn signals, interior light, wipers, radiator fan, A/T, c/c, and combination meter. Pin 6 (IG2) controls igniters/coils, alternator, fuel injectors, A/T, c/c, and combination meter.

With this, it looks like when power is cut to pin 6 (IG2) the engine turns off.

Can i wire a switch to do the same thing turning the key does (shutting off the engine) like in the pic below?

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this?

your idea should be easy to test. find that fuse just before the IG switch, with the engine running pull it. if that does what you want put a switch in that line.

Awesome, thanks a lot Allen ;). For some i never thought of that. I tried to earlier today and then did the wiring. I now have an engine off switch. One nice thing is now my gauges keep working the whole time, instead of going dark and coming back on like the way it works if i use the key.

Unfortunately i don't have any actual pics of underneath the steering wheel cover where i did the wires.

This is how i did the wiring:

This is the setup inside. The button is for starting and the switch is for stopping:
