I watched the 60 minutes report with interest last night.

It is a type of fuel cell, nothing completely different, just a different construction. They didn't talk about what the current installations cost that would have been nice. I may have missed it but the curent fuel is natural gas I think but I didn't hear how efficient it was in converting natural gas to energy, they might have said twice as much electricity? I need to rewatch the broadcast.

I believe the numbers were from $400K to $800K for a current model, twice as efficient at converting natural gas to electricity as a "power plant," and able to use fossil fuels, natural gas, bio gas, and "solar" as fuel. I don't know what was meant by the last as I'm not aware of any fuel cell that can use "solar" as a fuel.

I assume solar to mean, solar used to make a usable gas for fuel.

I wonder if a similar technique will work with Hydrogen.
