I'm not one to pour anything into my crankcase, but Slick 50 (http://www.slick50.com/) looks very worthwhile. My reasoning is anyone with a hybrid, shuts/restarts their engine with FAS needs more protection from friction. Slick 50 would help.

Look in the manual before you do it. Those products are very popular but sometimes manufacturers recomend them for what ever reason.

Slick 50 has been around a long time. It has/had a good reputation. I'd use it, but I would check my manual first.

Have not put it in yet, but the quart I have is a synethic Slick 50. I use synethic oil.

I'll check, but I have a good Slick 50 story.

Back in 1992, my CRX HF hit something on the freeway that ruptured the oli pan. I lost all my oil and it took a minute before I could park it. After it was towed to the mechanics, they said the engine was in good shape. It was good for another eight years. :)

Granted, a number of factors could account for it, but I don't think Slick 50 hurt...

I have used slick 50 and believe it does what they claim. Most all engine wear happens on start up, but a cold dry start up, not a warm wet start up like after a FAS. I stopped using slick 50 because I believe Synthetic oil does the same job without extra additives.....Louis

Excellent point about no oil on the cold startup - lots more wear!
