Colts vs Saints

Going to be a tough one. Number 1 seeds from the AFC and NFC, but I think the Colts are going to win this one. (Yes, I am biased.)

Who is Archie Manning going to route for - his son or the team he played for? ;)

Damionk
01-25-2010, 08:58 AM
His son with out a doubt. If my son was playing on a team against the Colts I would root for my son's team. Unless he played for the Pats, then that would be one tough decision.

May set a record for most points scored
1st Super Bowl for both head coaches
If the Colts win, could they have gone 19-0?

Hmmm, I like our chances.
Our QB is as good as Manning, or offense is maybe a little better-could argue that.
Our defense scores, and takes the ball away(gives up lots of yards of course)
Kicker/special teams-who knows.

Reggie Bush is our not so secret weapon. He has suddenly become the ALL WORLD BACK we thought we had drafted 4 years ago. We-NOLA- Saints fans have no idea why Reggie has suddenly become Reggie, but like they say,"Timing is Everything"
Reggie has good timing.Did you see him against the Vikings?? AZ? He is like the second coming of Walter Payton.

I like our chances.

I chatted with a busy Cajun last week.

How did I know he was busy?

Did not mention or alude to the Saints the day after they made it to their 1st Super Bowl. :D

Let's hope not: if either quarterback went down it would dimish the victory.

I heated up some soup for the game.

Wearing a long snowboarder jacket as my indoor temp is 64F.

I can't hear the Saints fans cheering as five cats are after my cup of soup and nearly strip it. Have to stand up but can't hear the sportscasters because of my zoo. Mewdonna almost climbed to my neck anyway!

Maybe I can get with the Richards group and this "pass rush" will be in next year's Super Bowl ads. :D

Saints failed on 4th and goal at 1st halfs end, but started the 2nd half in what might be known as "The" onside kick (Saints recovered).

Not a sleeper.

Hmmm, it looked bad at first. The Saints came out tight-got down 10 immediately.
I expect the Colts will take the lead again soon-13-10 but Colts on the 3, so soon to be 13-17 Colts.
13-17 Colts now-

...or Tracey Porter if Saints win?

Chuck

Tony Dungy never should have said Saints don't have a chance - just like he said Cowboys never had a chance of beating Saints in the regular season

Final Score: Saints 31 - Colts 17

Looks like that turned the game. Colts had no spirit after that interception!

WHO DAT WHO DAT WHO DAT

Everything exploded over here-fireworks, everyone out in the street, yelling shaking hands.

It is a real boost for NOLA.Hard to believe a football game could mean so much, but it does.We also just elected a competent mayor, so maybe things are looking up for NOLA.

I don't picture any rioting, not really our style.

The Super Bowl ended less than an hour ago and a sports writer puts this out: Rosenthal: Manning makes Colts team to beat in 2011 (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/35287974/ns/sports-nfl/)

For next season, he ranks Colts #1 - Saints #6...they are just #6?

One could globally change "New Orleans" to "New England" and "2011" to "2002" in the article....skeptics think it was smoke and mirrors.

...and Saints will love posting the skeptics on their billboards - just like the Patriots did.

Everything else aside, each NFL team tends to have a 33% turnover from retirements, new rookies, free agents, so it's waaay too early to predict.

Chuck
02-07-2010, 09:58 PM
For the record, I would have been cool about the Colts winning: I just liked the Saints more....I liked both teams.

Had they won, I'd have a poll asking which was better the past decade: Colts or Steelers with 2 Super Bowl wins each.

Chuck

Hmmm, #6-well we would have been happy to be number 6 for 42 years.

Maybe he has a point about our defense. Our defense is what actually changed from last year to this year.We had plenty of offensive firepower last year, but zero defense. Our defense is what got us to the SB-Darren Sharper etc. We'll let mext season worry about next season.

Charlie,

Newbies don't get respect in the NFL.

Pittsburgh, New England, Indianapolis are assumed to be good even after they lose their mojo....Dallas is the best example of a such following (13 yrs with no playoff victory, yet the biggest pro sports fan base :o )

So maybe it will be like New England - nobody will believe it and NO wins another Super Bowl or two, then S Peyton will turn over to the Dark Side like Darth Belichick and everybody will want the Saints to lose. :p
