My wife found a great job in Raliegh and now she wants to treat herself to a new car. So I expect that over the next month or two I will get the Prius back. The VX must go..... :(

She will have over 150k miles by then. She comes with a SuperMID, HX rims and Insight LRR tires. New O2 sensor, exhaust system, axles, drums, rotors and pads and just had an alignment last week. The original owner said that the timing belt, water pump and clutch were replaced at 110k miles, but I have no proff of that.

The belly pan came off for the alignment and isn't going back on because I won't sell the car with a somewhat controversial mod (perceived melting and fire danger).

She has rust in the usual locations by the rear wheel well and even though I replaced the rotors, there is a substantial shimmy while braking at high speeds. The gas gauge gets whacky at under 1/2 tank so I fill up at about 3/8 tank. I wouldn't go lower.

I would prefer to sell to a CMPG member. Best Offer.

PM me with an offer if you are interested.

As part of the deal I made with the wife, I get a new car in a few years. Can you say Diesel HSD III? Or maybe diesel IMA II?:Banane36:

Wayne,
I will be very interested in any info regarding the surprises that Toyota or Honda have planned for us in a few years. Maybe Eric Powers can get me on a waiting list?:woot:

Hi Dan:

___Oh boy, another one? You are going through cars faster then I am ;)

___I will have to compile all the Toyota leaks about HSD-III from the last few months. And you have probably already heard about Honda’s 2.2 iDCTi coming in 09. I do not think they are going to IMA the CI-ICE however which will cost them some around town. Without a full blown EV mode, they are still hunting for an advanced answer to Toyota’s HSD. All that would be needed for Start/Stop on the 2.2 is an electric oil pump for the turbo … if there will be a next gen IMA iteration?

___Good Luck

I wonder if Eric can connect you to some of the HybridFest participants?

It just dawned on me - the Civic VX is not that much heavier than the CRX or Insight at 2100 pounds...

I don't know about getting you on any waiting lists, but you have caught my attention with the sale of your car. I'll have to do a little research for a fair price.

I'd have to research the logistics of getting here, too. Hmmmm....

Tempting....

I apologize if my suggestion was inappropiate, Eric.

I guess I'm wondering why you would be interested. Don't you have a perfectly fine Insight?

Oh, I'd still use the Insight for my commutes. But my other "car" is a minivan. Often a 4 passenger small car would be nice for those shorter trips when only 4 people are traveling. Let's say 30 - 60 mile round trip. And if I am going to buy something at all, why not make it a mileage champ?

Hi Eric:

___If he brings it up here, I get to drive it from IL. to your house, right ;)

___Dan, when you first purchased it, you replaced the axles, ball joints, and brakes or something, right? I knew you spent some time and $’s refurbishing her but I do not remember what you upgraded.

___Good Luck

Looks like I'm going to have to pass on your excellent VX. My next vehicle purchase will probably have to be a litlte more local. Oh well.
Im sure whoever gets your car is going to love it.

Good luck!

Who is the lucky owner? Did you pass him along links to gassavers, and cleanmpg so he can learn how to drive it "properly" :)

Wohoo! Someone just made a very wise purchasing decision.

I sold it to XFi at gassavers. He is selling his Metro and going over to the dark side as he put it. He took it for a test drive while I explained the SuperMID. He made sure that VTEC was working.:D In fact, he redlined it several times.:p The 6 km test drive, from a dead cold start (sub freezing) netted 35 MPG. He was going to stop at a gas station for his first official fill before heading back home to the Philly area. With the cold temps, i'm crossing my fingers that he will eeek out a 60 MPG tank.

Hi Dan:

___Although I am not a performance VTEC fan by any stretch, at least its there for those that want to play in that realm … I wish XFi all the best with his purchase of your VX. He knows what he is doing and I can only hope he will continue in your footsteps by stretching the FE envelope as hard as you have in her.

PS: I like your new Prius II avatar ;)

___Good Luck
