The 80's Oldsmobile diesel was a gasser impersonating a diesel, but Detroit has not stopped the lame acts....IMHO this is even worse. Hint: it's not hybrid or EV.

Anyone know the kind of powerplant I'm talking about?

Flex-fuel?

Two guesses -
BAS - An alternator pretending to be a HSD
HCCI - A gas engine that switches to compression ignition at steady speeds - possible thanks to direct injection and some clever valve timing needed to boost compression high enough.

If HCCI does hit the market, I will want to invest heavily in FelPro or any company that manufactures head gaskets...

Ok, I'll switch my vote to BAS - it's just so useless while costing so much.

Flex-fuel?:bananajump::bananajump::bananajump:

Flex fuel is built to run on gas or ethanol, but can't run either at it's most efficient....you call this green? :eyebrow:
