View Full Version : You veterans rock! tbaleno 11-11-2006, 04:42 PM Thanks for putting your lives on the line for us so we can live comfortably. Chuck 11-11-2006, 04:46 PM I did not pay for this message, but I endorse it. :) Chuck 11-12-2006, 10:15 AM I want to keep this thread going, in part because I was slow to realize it. Not too many days are celebrated nationally on Saturday. Reflecting on "hitting the wall" at mile 15 of a 20-mile run Saturday - that's not a real killer - see Bataan Death March (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataan_Death_March). World War I was mentioned for a couple of reasons. First - it celebrates the World War I armistice on Nov 11. Secondly, there are still a tiny handful of veterans from that war that are over 100 - we are lucky to have them today in the flesh. I want to mention to the Vietnam vets as well as the current Iraq vets - it's espically challenging to fight in a gurerlla/asymetrical war. tigerhonaker 11-12-2006, 12:06 PM I want to keep this thread going, in part because I was slow to realize it.
