(I know this will generate discussion....) tbaleno 10-27-2006, 06:36 PM I like incentives like the prize for the darpa challenge. But I don't like handouts. xcel 10-27-2006, 08:26 PM Hi Chuck: ___I would like to see a revenue neutral solution vs. the Hybrid tax credit myself. Based purely on the EPA combined in fact. An HCH-II, Prius, FEH, Fit, Yaris, Focus, Aveo, Corolla, Civic etc. would receive a given amount for each mpg above the average EPA combined as a credit and the Sequoia, Ram, Ridgeline, Expedition, Tahoe etc. purchasers would receive a penalty to offset the fuel miser credits. The std. Civic w/ an Auto has an EPA combined of 35 mpg’s yet receives nothing as just one example. ___By comparison … 2006 FWD FEH at 33.5 combined receives a $2,600 credit. 2007 AH at 31.5 combined receives a $1,350 credit. 2007 FWD HiHy and RXh at 29.5 combined receives a $1,300 credit as of Sept. 30. ___Good Luck ___Wayne Chuck 10-27-2006, 08:57 PM I think there are good and bad incentives - I voted yes. Shifting the government's revenues to green incentives seems like a good idea.
