Hi
Some news from Japan that may be of interest, Kanagawa Prefectural government which is currently installing a fleet of EVs will allow their vehicles to be rented on the weekends. Costs about 5,250 Yen(about $50 ( for 3 hours) and 7,350 Yen (about $70) for 6 hours. Currently they allow two cars to be rented and they will be available through Nippon rent-a-car (Yokohama Station,045-440-0919) for a Plug-in Stella and Mazda Timestation rent-a-car (Kannai office,045-262-8966) for a MiEV. Kanagawa government hopes this will help to introduce the benefits of BEVs to its citizens. The program starts from Sept 19th 2009 and will run until March 19th 2010. Reservations started on Sept 11th.
Details were here but so far only in Japanese
