If anyone knows I bought myself my Road Venture Kumho 51s.
Though I am wondering about Valve stems.

Should I stick with regular snap in Valves?
Or should I get something like this.
http://www.amazon.com/Milton-470-Metal-Valve/dp/B000FN8IWY/ref=sr_1_54?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1252367889&sr=1-54

Since Snap in Valves are probably not designed with Higher Pressures in mind.

They're rated for higher pressures than usual, right? I looked
into similar products back when I did my valve stem alert article (http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/valvestem/)
but haven't actually had the opportunity to put a set on my car yet.

AH it was you!
I remember reading that article (Bookmarked)
Though which should I get?

inner Mount
http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-VS402C-Inner-Mount/dp/B000CMDATY/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1252386090&sr=1-7

Outer Mount
http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-VS401C-Outer-Mount/dp/B000CMF5ME/ref=sr_1_58?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1252367889&sr=1-58

Or third party
http://www.amazon.com/Milton-470-Metal-Valve/dp/B000FN8IWY/ref=sr_1_54?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1252367889&sr=1-54

Or maybe theres another site somewheres with better price to Performance ratio.

I'm not sure why these stems are always shown with the retaining
nut *inboard* of the outer gasket piece, but obviously the two
rubber bits would be on either side of the rim hole and the nut
and washer holding all that together. I'd likely go with the
"outside" variant as it keeps the inner flange and stem integrated
as a single piece of metal and probably less likely to leak once
the whole thing sees internal pressure.

I have probably replaced thousands of tire and have never seen a complete valve stem failure like hobbits! I have seen core leaks from dirt contamination - this is why I give each stem a quick blow of compressed air with my inflator after I remove the stem cap before I check psi. The only other failures I have seen could be attributed to an external damage (impact, vandalism, ect).

On street cars the generic stems seem more than durable in my experience. For race cars I will only install the metal gasketed valve stems like the ones from milton in the op. The extra margin of safety is a mandatory for me and the forces seen at speed on a plain rubber stem prohibit me from ever considering the use of a rubber one.

Anyway - hobbits failure while uncommon in my experience at least is another sad example of the right people unable to produce the great products they are known for the sake of plain greed!
