Well she did it. She backed the Accord into a landscape boulder and tore up the bumper cover. So her streak is still intact. She has wrecked or damaged in some way every car she's ever owned. Every single last one. Im really suprised she got 36k miles on it before she wacked it. Most times she has them wrinkled up way before 36k miles.

And to think she wanted to use my Civic a weekend or so ago to run to the store while I washed her Accord. Looks like I wont be washing it anymore and she still isnt allowed to drive my car...:D

I feel your pain. The only door ding in my Prius was inflected while I was out of town and "someone" was "borrowing it" to drive some errands around town.

Before that, there were four little circles in the front bumper of my previous car. Odd little things and perfectly spaced. Then I measured them and the license-plate bolts on the back of my wife's car. Yeah, she'd backed into my car twice, imprinting the two upper bolts into my front bumper.

The irony of that is if your neighborhood is like mine, landscape boulders are to keep trucks with landscape trailers, etc from putting their tread marks on the lawn

Sorry to hear about her mishap.

Variation: I've let the garage door nick the rear bumper - OUCH!

It makes a good case for driving a 5-speed and choosing a significant other who doesn't know how and doesn't care to learn. Then again I'm the only one of the two of us who has actually been in an accident so far, so statistically she has more to be afraid of than I do. The only thing I'm truly afraid for is my clutch, as she does want to learn.

I've learned my lesson many times over. If it cost over $1000.00 don't let a women near it! My favorite sports car was the 1998 Starion turbo. Karen put it in a ditch, Thersa blew the Clutch completely out of the bell housing onto the street and Becky did $5700.00 in damage by hitting a deer (not really her fault, but...). Theresa also wrecked the truck, the jetski, the boat and my heart!

Man that girl was crazy, and so was I for not getting away from her sooner.... She tried to blame wrecking the truck on me! She claimed I was so drunk that I didn't remember crashing the day before! I've never been so drunk I lost time....

The silver lining is the bumper took all the damage.

Hi Jeff:

___Sorry to hear about the mishap and I hope she/you have brought back something good out of it. Get rid of those #o) D@m$%* Landscape boulders! Those things have caused more damage to automobiles then any other man made objects known to man including man himself! Your poor Accord :(

___As for the wife, many here know what that is all about! On the other hand, I believe Tarabell and Laurie might have a thing or two to say about the female persuasion being the only cause for undo headaches when it comes to ones vehicle and those the drive them ;)

___Good Luck

It'll buff out! . . . . *buff, buff* . . . hmm.

See, this is why we need steel bumpers back. :)

Wouldn't the body shop just order a red bumper, check the frame inside and just put it on?

A oem bumper cover is not painted. There is a bent braket under the tail light and also a small ripple in the quarter panel...
