View Full Version : Used Reverse Pass

I used reverse pass for the first time yesterday on the way home from work. I'm on the interstate doing a little under 60mph on a slight incline in the right lane (letting speed bleed off a little). First a tanker truck zooms past on the left. Then I notice a car zooming up behind me and ends up hugging my back bumper.

I thought about slowing down even more, but then noticed a completely empty left lane as far back as I could see in the mirror. So, I slide over to the left, coast a little, and the bumper hugger went right on by! Went back to the right lane and then saw them get off at the next exit which was less than a 1/4 mile away. Worked pretty slick. I know Missouri has a law that says the left lane is to be used for passing only. Wonder if that covers reverse pass?:)

Also found a new way home last week that gets me off the interstate a few miles sooner and allows me to avoid a couple of steep hills towards the end of the interstate run. Miles traveled is the same too! With a cooler than normal summer and our FEH getting good and broken in, we've just posted our 3rd tank over 40mpg!
