Hi All:

___Now I need another good vid manipulation member to help me with the following...

___I have spent all morning, afternoon and evening to finish up a PowerPoint presentation for Ford's Hf presence and have it in their media's hands other than one last vid.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/business/Go-1300-Miles-With-a-Single-Tank-of-Gas.html

___I can capture the commercial with Real Player but not the helicopter vid. Can anyone help out with this 30 or so seconds as it is a component of the Ford presentation for all those heading to Hf 2009 next week?

___Thanks in advance.

___Wayne

All old stuff below...

___I have been sitting on this story for two days and until I can convert this low quality, POS little flash to an AVI/WMV/FLV, I cannot upload it to YouTube and use it as the headline pic/vid. YouTube rejects it directly unfortunately :(

___I have installed (6 !!!!) SW trial vid converters and all either leave a watermark across the vid or leave a stats page along side of it. Can anyone use their own converter to convert this 4 MB file to an AVI and then send it back to me via E-Mail?

___Thanks in advance.

I was going to offer help but my video converter is on the blink for some reason. I do remember having problems converting flash videos so i would be interested in what works in this instance.

I have a FF add-on called DownloadHelper that is supposed to convert videos. Unfortunately, it won't work on my work computer. It looks like it ill convert from FLV to WMV easily, though I've never tried it.

Wayne,
I got it. It's an FLV file (1.4MB), and I converted it to WMV (3.1MB) too. Do you want me to upload it to Files or email them to you?

If you still need any help I have Quicktime Pro installed on my Mac which makes video conversion nice and simple

Hi Chris:

___I sent you a PM replay and if you can send m the WMV, let her rip :) Were you able to delete the commercial?

___Alex, if this one does not work out, I might be sending you a PM. I am so buried with other projects right now including a NASCAR vs. AVIS team clean and tire change challenge at O'Hare in 1.5 hours, getting ready for the Chicago to NY and back in the Prius trip, the NJ to Canada and back BMW bike trip, the Ford presentation for HF 2009 and setting it up for a CleanMPG article and all the E-Mails to all the interested parties involved with all of the above post haste

___Good Luck

Wayne, I sent it just before - video w/o commercial. Should be in your inbox now.

Y'know, WMV is still a proprietary format. Why not convert
the thing to something truly standard, like mpeg 4??

Hi Chris:

___It worked great!

___Al, to place it into a PowerPoint as easily as I can.

___Chris' rip to WMV worked likea charm and he even cut it where it needed to be cut ;)

___Good Luck
