The Hummer family originated in France. The name there was Humer. They left France for Luxemburg during the 17th Century to escape religious persecution. They were Catholics, living in a Calvinistic era. It was in Luxemburg that the name was Germanized to Hummer. Humer in French means humor. Therefore a comedy mask might be more appropriate than a lobster.It all makes sense to me - Luxemburg has the highest per capita income in the EU, so they might be tooling around in H2s.
