hi im from ireland

in have a 04 280 85 transit.

im trying to get the most mpg out of it i can. besides keeping revs low and coasting down hills, and trying never to come to a complete stop what can i do?

i dont want to be turning it off alot because its a diesel and takes such a amount of power to start, and diesels aren't ment to take much on tickover anyway.

so what else can i do?

Any way to get instant fuel economy feedback in there? Instant feedback is great for determining what is working right then.

Learn the stoplights and signals in your area. Knowing what they're going to do 10-15 seconds out makes life easier, and safer since you're free to react to traffic conditions instead of the signal.

Also, if there's any basic maintenance you have been putting off, do it. Good mileage starts with a good-running vehicle!

Finally, welcome!
