So I was looking into some cars to reoplace my 11 year old Astra Diesel. Not that I'm planning to replace it, but just in case it breaks down or something (it is getting more trouble lately)
So I was surfing aroyund And I found this (It's a dutch site so I let google translate it):
"Honda claims the Insight average consumes 4.4 l/100 km (53mpg), in practice we took that number only town. Our mixed consumption fluctuated between 5.8 (40.5mpg) and 6.2 liters (38mpg). On the highway consumption fluctuated around 7 liters (33,6mpg)."
Now you all need to know the highway speed in Belgium is 75mph, and probably they did that. Is the consumption really 33mpg? What if you do 55mph?
I don't know how they drove it, but it's a site about ecologic fleet management for companies, so I would assume they know something about ecodriving...

Between 50-60mph on the highway you should get about 4.3 L/100 km, but depending on your conditions you might be able to get it to about 4 L/100 km. When I did my Insight-II test drive I didn't really spend enough time on the highway to get consistent numbers. Best way to find out would be to try and rent one for a day or ask for an extended test drive.
