European 2010 Honda Insight-II - $25,425 USD to start and 51 mpgUS combined on the NEDC receives Green Car recognition.
In Europe where CO2 emissions are more important than fuel economy as of late (even though they are equivalent through chemistry), the Honda Insight-II took top honors in this years ETA – Green Car of the Year balloting.
ETA - Controversial award measuring methods and statements
CO2 emissions as measured during the NEDC shows the 2010 Honda Insight-II emits101 grams of CO2/km which helped it beat more than 1,300 other vehicles examined by the ETA. Other measures within the ETA's judging process include some very odd metrics indeed.

The ETA recently derided the UK’s “cash for bangers” car scrappage scheme estimating that "25% of the environmental pollution caused by automobiles occurs during the production process of the car."
Volvo's director of mobility and technical assessment, Dr Stephen Wallman and Volkswagen Group's head of research and development, Dr Ulrich Eichhorn who measure this for their vehicles find the number closer to 10%.
All said, the 2010 Honda Insight-II took top “Green Car” honors with other just as or more environmentally friendly and noteworthy automobiles declared also-rans.
