Just out of curiousity, how many forced auto stops do you perform on a typical commute? I have a 40mile round trip commute each day and perform 5 FAS on the way to work and 9 on the way home.

I do about 11 FAS's. Would be more but I can't restart going faster than about 40MPH.:(
47miles each way for about 94 miles round trip.

I do about 5 or 6 for a round trip of about 34 miles

I'm not sure I can count that high. In the 5.8 mile trip to take my wife to work, I think it's around 9 times. From there to my work it's 9.6 miles and I think the number is 15-20. (I REALLY have to get my injector kill switch wired up) I'll have to try and remember to count on Monday.

i want a kill switch ;(

I try to follow the rule (either my engine is at LOAD or its off, never idling) so for me on my way to work maybe at least 10 or over everytime on my 8.5 mile commute.

My engine LOVES IT :D

About 30 on my 50 mile commute and about 80 on my 75 mile commute. The rolling terrain around here gives plenty of opportunities for ICE-off coasting.

All of my FAS are below 40mph because I don't turn the key off, just shut the ICE down with "L" or tapping the brakes and gliding in "N". I try to be in EV 70% of the time, but I kick the ICE on more for A/C reasons in this heat. I would just estimate in my 40 mile city daily about 20 times at least and I have only bridges for hills.

Most of the time above 40mph, I pulse to a desired speed and glide down to a desired speed or stop. When I reach 40mph it's EV right away. I plan above 40mph routes to fill the battery when I have too, and look for the moment to burn off that charge ASAP. A full battery is for prolong highway speeds with "N" gliding as much as possible.

Because of the axle disconnect in "N" in the FEH, gliding ICE-ON above 40mph is acceptable. In competition for FE, I may go key-off FAS and take my right shoe-off.

My normal count in my 84 mile daily grind is around 40. Depends on lights, traffic.

if i take the backroads home, i can get it maybe 6-10, on the highway, none...

On my trip to work, about five times (85% is freeway).

5 but they are all around 1 mile each.

I currently perform none, but for a while I was able to get 10-15 over the course of a 17 mile commute. The loss in FE was roughly 10% when going from hyper FAS mode to basic hypermiling techniques.

On a 16.5 mile (one way) commute about 13 times on the way to work and 12 on the way home, plus perhaps one or two more times for unexpected stops or alternate routes. Out of a 33 mile round trip with an average number of stops I fas perhaps 27 times. Less if I make all the lights, more on unlucky days.....Less also if my SOC is low, more if I'm going for a record tank....
