I'll be P&Ging a lot. But I'll probably not be turning off the engine much. It's just way too much work keying off and bump-starting.

PaleMelanesian 05-28-2009, 04:48 PM Good luck. That's a fair distance. I'm wiped out after a drive half that far. jhu 05-28-2009, 05:18 PM If only the car had lean-burn... jhu 06-01-2009, 01:35 PM Just got back from said trip. ~42.5 mpg each way. Pretty decent for this car, especially since it uses a gas engine. This is probably worthy of a JOTD: As I was driving through Stockton, there was a guy in a Lincoln sedan causing all sorts of problems on the highway. I first noticed some traffic up ahead, and it was this one older guy driving 20mph in the middle lane! He'd periodically speed up to highway speeds and then suddenly brake for no reason. I felt like calling the 911 on the guy. ALS 06-02-2009, 10:39 AM He was hoping someone would hit him. I'm not joking. I had a guy pull that crap on me back in winter of 1982. Road was snow covered and I was sitting way back driving half the posted speed. As I'm coming down a hill (4 lane) The guy in front of me slams on the brakes and stops in the middle of our side of the road. So I just tap the brakes and slide over the double yellow (no one coming on the other side) just to make sure of no possibility of hitting the guy. This idiot drives over the double yellow and parks in front of me. I stopped probably seven to eight car lengths behind him. I noted the car and plate number and when I got home I called my Police Dept and reported the guy. About two hours later I got a call from a neighboring Police Dept asking about the incident with this guy. Seems they had an accident involving this car. After telling the investigating officer what had happen he thanked me. Damionk 06-02-2009, 12:22 PM Just got back from said trip. ~42.5 mpg each way. He wasn't a jerk, he was a hypermiler doing the new Pulse & Brake technique.:p Seriously though, I would have called 911 on him, that is an accident waiting to happen as ALS stated. If you have the guys plate and what-not you could give the police the info in case he did cause an accident. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
