2009 Quantya FMX Track – Out of nowhere and now leader of the pack.

Las Vegas, NV. -- Every year, thousands of motocross fans and enthusiasts make their way to Las Vegas for the finals of the AMA Supercross Race series. At the 2009 event, 5,000 excited fans gathered at the Orleans Arena for the much anticipated Mini AMA/Maxxis Supercross (http://www.minimotosx.com/) race. Many of those in attendance were unaware that history was about to be made. To promote green motocross riding, event coordinators were holding the first ever all-electric motocross event.

Two companies, Quantya and Zero came with a fleet of electric motocross dirt bikes and competed head to head in a 6 lap race. As the crowd cheered for the legendary riders such as Mike Metzger, riding for Quantya and Ryan Dudek, riding for Zero, the race started amazingly quiet. With all electric motors, the competing motorcycles generated little noise and no gas fumes. As the bikes raced around the tracks, spectators could actually hear the bikes kicking up the track dirt.

Out of 11 riders in the race, Brian Roth and David Lodermeier, both riding for Quantya, celebrated as they came in first and second respectively, leaving the other riders far behind them. Even Metzger, who had troubles at the start of the race, had caught up and ended the race in fifth place for team Quantya.

This race offered a completely new and exhilarating experience for the viewers and the riders alike, giving a significant push towards a new wave of cleaner sport riding.

"We are proud to be a part of the first ever electric motocross race and dedicate this momentous win to our loyal customers and the entire Quantya Team. We want to extend our most sincere thank you to our sponsors, No Fear and Fox Shox for their support!" said Dario Trentini, CEO, Quantya USA.

Quantya is the first electric competition ready electric motocross. Quantya electric motorcycles are manufactured in the idyllic Swiss city of Lugano where advanced technology has delivered the world’s sturdiest and technically advanced all-electric dirt bike.

“We are extremely proud to be able to bring our innovation to the United States and contribute even on a small scale to save our planet from global warming,” says Claudio Dick, CEO and founder of Quantya SA, Switzerland.

Relying on their determination of providing Swiss ingenuity and pride in craftsmanship, all Quantya motorcycles are EC certified and warranted for 2 years.

Quantya FMX Motorcycles use advanced Lithium Polymer Batter technology with proprietary electronics to power its 14KW motor with a 47V or 74V battery. A typical fully charged battery will launch the FMX to 40+ mph (governed) and give it a range of up to 2.5 hours.

Quantya SA is already a huge success in Europe where riders can go to local “Quantya Parks” and enjoy the thrill of these electric motorcycles on a rental basis.

Hi All:

___I was fortunate to be able to speak with the Quantya US principal here in the US and have some more details...

___There are only two models available in the US, the Track (full MX) and the Dual-sport Strada vs. Europe's Track, Strada and SuperMoto.

___The Quantya Strada is DOT Street legal (the Strada Pics on their website are the European variant) with a real world range of 25 to 30 miles although it can reach 50 + at slower speeds. The packs are not meant to be swappable but can be customizable to do so. Packs themselves cost upwards of $2,500 and I promised not to mention their manufacture per Dario’s request.

Pricing

Track - $9,975 with $300 destination
Strada - $10,700 with $300 destination

The bikes are customizable for speed or acceleration and that is handled via gear ratio differences via sprocket sizing.

___Finally, I thought it was the Zero-X that appeared at the Las Vegas AMA event when in fact it was Zero Motorcycles latest not even released to the public Zero-MX with a hopped up motor, Li-Ion pack and vastly upgraded suspension components. The Quantya Strada owned their latest design.

___Public details and photos can be seen at the Quantya BEM site: Quantya (http://www.quantya.us/index.php?page=home)

___Good Luck

___Wayne
