Just got back from running my test loop. 10.4 miles out, 10.4 miles back.
First loop. Car warm but not up to operating temps, 57f with a slight wind out of the north.
Out: 73.1 mpg
Back: 77.4 mpg
Ave. Speed: 29 mph
Drove it slow and easy. No tricky stuff. Pack held good all was well.
Second loop. Car at operating temps, 55f with a slight north wind.
Out: 77.2 mpg
Back: 70.0
Ave Speed: 30 mph
Drove out using fas. Problem was the pack fell to 4 bars. I knew this would mean trouble. Of which it did on the return trip. With in two miles and already breaking 80 mpg the pack dropped to 3 bars. This was met with mpg doooom. I had to stop fas'ing and let it do it's blasted recharging. It stayed on one to two bars for 5 miles. The whole time choking off mpg. Once the pack was in good shape I was back down to 65 mpg. I was able to recover back to 70 mpg the last three miles. But it was shot.
Also of note the CVT didn't seem to like coming back to life at times once the car was refired. I would be met with a nasty little jerk or a all out clunk. Don't think it will be fas'ed much. Just let it do its own fuel cut off and watch for 0 ing. timing and hope for the best.
