Friday evening I was on I-26 somewhere south of Columbia when some guy in a white H3 comes up behind me. He's chatting away on his cell phone. The amazing part was he left 3-4 carlengths between me and him at all times, then a few minutes later when there's a break in traffic, he signals and passes me, then pulls 3-4 carlengths ahead of me before signaling and moving over into the right lane. No speeding, no using his massive vehicle to bully a hole into faster traffic.
Needless to say, I was floored.

Hahahahaha!!!
I wonder if we're in Bizarro World. And if so, how did we get here, and can we stay here?
I got my new Motor Trend magazine a couple of days ago, and I thought for sure the Body Snatchers arrived and had taken over the world. One article on the Toyota Venza described the fuel economy of the 2.7L four vs the V6 and stated that the increased efficiency was well worth the tradeoff in acceleration. They described the 2.7 as "perfectly adequate" and "a wiser choice compared with the 3.5". Fortunately, I was sitting down when I read it. In the same article, they compared tire and wheel weight and stressed the efficiency advantages of lower unsprung weight. Somebody pinch me...
Since when has a four-banger been preferred when it commits the mortal sin of taking two seconds longer to cover 1/4 mile at full throttle?
