A much anticipated announcement could happen tomorrow. Much anxious discussion has taken place in respect to the price of the new generation.-Ed.

Toyota, apparently spooked by the arrival of the budget-priced Honda Insight hybrid in showrooms last month, is shaving $1,000 off the sticker of the Prius.

Faced with a collapse of the hybrid market and the arrival of the Insight with its $19,800 base price, Toyota blinked and decided to cut the price of the 2010 Prius to $21,000, down from a base price of $22,000 for the 2009 model, according to Bloomberg News.

Toyota plans to announce the pricing on the new Prius on Tuesday and the car....http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/uptospeed/2009/04/prius-pricing.html

If I wasn't unemployed I would probably be pulling the trigger in the next couple of days.

Someone please call or txt me when we know, tomorrow I'll be helping an Earth Day program out and will be AFK for most of the morning and part of the afternoon. This will be nice info to have when I'm standing amongst people looking at they hybrid market, I hate knowing less than the customer about the car (this would be the case because they could know how much less the HI2 is than the Prius-III and I'd only have wild speculation [what we have currently] rather than raw facts for them to make up their own mind with)

You're on the list. Do you get email on your phone?

My phone is my tether, email, sms, mms, voice, internet homing device, and more the only thing it doesn't have is proper voicemail, but I did that last one on purpose.

I tried to just say yes but didn't want to have to use any workarounds for "Post too short"

The tension mounts!
Copied from elsewhere:

It's coming. Not long now.

I recommend you check back every minute or so today. But don't waste too much time - shouldn't you be working?
