Toyota Prius-III and -II behind will be sold together... The Prius-II is still a worthy automobile investment and with a new, much lower price, should sell well up against the 2010 Honda Insight-II in Japan.

Tokyo, Japan -- Toyota’s chief confirmed rumors that Toyota’s almost invincible second generation 2009 Prius-II will continue to be sold alongside the upcoming 2010 Prius-III in Japan are true.

"They will have different engine sizes, 1.5 liters and 1.8 liters, and we figure there will be demand for the two to co-exist," said Katsuaki Watanabe, President of Toyota Motor Corporation.

Ironically, his statements occurred during the launch of the 4.6L equipped, 'Crown Majesta' full sized sedan (read FSP) rated at 22 mpg on the Japan 10-15 fuel economy test cycles. Approximately 18 mpgUS on our own 08 EPA

The all-new 2010 Toyota Prius will be in Toyota showrooms around the world starting in May.
