Well, I want to get into growing food and stuff, so I need some recommendations on some good gardening forums. I'm going to be doing container gardening too, so I don't know if that makes a big difference or not.
I sure never thought there would ever be any forums dedicated to getting the most mpg out of your car as possible, but then I found cleanMPG. I don't really even remember how, but here it is. This place has a good amount of people and information. Shoot, there's even that ecomodder forum too that deals with the same thing almost.
Anyways, a good garden forum with active members that answer your questions and help you out, that's what I'm looking for, thanks.

There are a lot of different forums here:

You should be able to find someone in your area also to offer local tips. Try Southern Gardening for Texas and the Southwestern Gardening forum might also have tips. I have found lots of helpful folks and great information on my area.
Container Gardening and Square Foot Gardening will have info on your type of plan.

Start there and find your local county extension office. They will give you SO MUCH information - recommended varieties, planting dates, common problems in your area, etc.

I second the extension office in your county and the forums on gardenweb. Also check out the Central Texas Gardner podcast too. kevin

"The Self-Sufficient Gardener" by John Seymour is one of the better home vegatable gardening books.

Check for Community Plots too. In my town, gardeners can rent a 25'x30' plot for $49/yr.
Great for the apartment bound among us.

Thanks for the links guys. I've been too busy lately but I will check them out sometime soon. I did spend a little time on gardenweb and the cheap veggie gardener site.
The only book I read on the subject was "Fresh Food from Small Spaces" by R.J. Ruppenthal.
Basically I got a small balcony at my apartment to grow stuff on. Anyways that book did give me some ideas of what to grow, but it also gave me the idea of building one of those "Earth Boxes".
It's looking like I'm going to be a dollar store gardener this season though. I was at the Dollar Tree a few days ago and they had packets of seeds on sale for 10 cents each, so I stocked up and got about 24 seedlings I'm trying to start now. They also had some seed starting trays with the little plastic covers over them to keep them humid. So far my seeds are sprouting a lot better than the Basil seeds I just put in a pot of dirt without any cover.
