It is just a front and rear fascia update to the Volt, but it looks good! --Ed.
The electric car that could save a British car industry and thousands of UK jobs was unveiled by Vauxhall today at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Vauxhall Ampera - which can fully charge from a typical household plug in just three hours and for under £1 - is to go in on sale in the UK from 2012 priced at around £20,000.
Vauxhall want to build it in its Ellesmere Port factory, which employs 5,000 people, and are in discussions with the UK Government with a view to getting financial help - to help build a national infrastructure of plug-in charging points.
In earlier meeting with Gordon Brown, Vauxhall said the car could help fulfil the Prime Minister's ambition to make the UK the 'electric car capital of Europe.'
