I can just imagine what Mike might come up with after seeing your pic! Re: Converting Hybrid cars to EV. (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1651&page=5) ___EV, PHEV, HEV and all at let us imagine < 1,500 #'s ;) ___Good Luck and great pic. ___Wayne highwater 09-07-2006, 11:49 AM I found this moncoque sitting behind the auto body shop, at the area tech school. I was there for some welding classes. This was before I bought my Insight. I thought something looked familiar. It must be a trainer/demo, for the aluminum body. The photo shows some of the cutaways, that detail the monocoque construction. I put another in the general gallery, and have several more if anyone should need them. I fiqured it might not be around forever, so I better document it. It doesn't appear to be a hack job. All the edges of the cuts are finished, the pieces highlighted with green and red paint, and it seems to have a clear coat finish. Did Honda produce something like this for training, demo, trade shows, etc.? The pic is pretty big, but it is a close up, so I didn't crop it. But I only put the one in this thread. http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/data/2/cutaway_1.JPG http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/data/2/cutaway_2.JPG A piece of Honda history? Randall xcel 09-07-2006, 12:09 PM Hi Randall: ___I added the second pic as well! ___You should ask around because if they ever decide to dump that shell, I could see you close up those cutaways with an hour or two worth of welding and if would be a great start for all kinds of interesting ideas for the future. ___Good Luck ___Wayne vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
