Just wanted to say hello to everyone and look forward to gaining some useful information here. Best MPG to date is 34.1, which isn't too bad, but I believe I can do better. Just purchased myself a ScanGauge II to see if it is as good as they say it is. Anyway, with all that said, I'm off in search of some knowledege!!

Welcome, 2003FLSTF.

Read the article on Hypermiling - Beating the EPA near the upper right of the Home page. I found the review of the '09 Toyota Corolla XRS was useful in establishing a P&G routine for my car, with its similar displacement and sporty aspirations.

Actually that article was really what prompted me to join the forum in the first place. Thanks for the advice on the Toyota too!!

Robby

It would be Taffeta White. First white car that I have ever owned and.....its not as hard to keep clean as I once thought. I always avoid mudpuddles though and drive my truck when its gonna rain! :D

I wasn't aware that you worked at Midlands Honda! I was there yesterday picking up some wiper blade inserts. I live just to the east in Camden. Small World....

Cool!

I met a new Prelude owner in service on Monday and then again at the gas station in Irmo yesterday.

Truly a small world. I'm not usually there on Tuesdays but feel free to swing by and have a chat next time you're in.

Rain? Try "wintery mix."

By far, the number one thing you can do to reduce your fuel usage is to drive your FA5 in the rain then. Find a good touchless carwash near one of your travel routes.

06 TW FG2, all weather, safely pulled 40 MPG all last summer.

-mr. bill,
That's beautiful. Are those Element center caps on Civic steel wheels wrapped in winter tires? or...?

Steelies and Tires from The Tire Rack.
And they are indeed Element center caps, and the retainer lugnuts cost more than the center caps.

You can keep it clean in the winter.

And why I don't run on low profile tires with alloy wheels in the winter. These are often hidden in snow or rain.
