I don’t know how they are going to do it but it sure is nice to see Race Crazy Britain going electric. -- Ed.

The Bee Four electric racing vehicle (ERV), pioneered by Bee Automobiles Limited, will compete in the 2010 British Speed Hillclimb Championship. It will be driven by Graeme Wight Jr, double British Hillclimb Champion.

It will compete as the BRM Bee Four ERV, reviving the illustrious BRM marque that was founded just after the Second World War by Raymond Mays, who had built hillclimb and road racing cars under the ERA name before the conflict, and Peter Berthon. This year is the 60th anniversary of BRM.

The BRM Bee Four ERV - code-named the "Watt 4" - is an all-electric vehicle capable of producing 700hp or 520kW and would seem ideally suited to sprint events due to an electric motor's maximum torque delivery from zero revs. It uses electric motor technology developed at Oxford University, and all four wheels are driven for maximum traction. Its projected top speed is 250mph...

"We believe that the BRM Bee Four project demonstrates this perfectly - acknowledging the past, enhancing the present and creating the future. At a time when we are all examining the cost-effectiveness and environmental impact of many parts of what we do, we hope that the project will demonstrate that motorsport can be both these things - without forgetting the 'social' aspect or the importance of fun, enjoyment and competition." … http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/environment/4308084/Electric-car-to-compete-in-British-Hillclimb-Championship.html
