View Full Version : Fuel Pump Switch?

I'm trying to wire in a switch to be able to turn the fuel pump on and off in my 2004 Hymotion L5 PHEV Prius. I know the power to the fuel pump runs through one of the wires in the bundle in the sidewall by the driver's left foot (see photo). Can anyone tell me how to identify the wire?

Thanks.

Why? if you are looking for a FAS switch, then you would probably be better off finding an injector cut switch as a fuel cut switch will probably take your car through the glide with the engine on before the engine shuts off. An injector switch however is instant.

it might be easier to track down the fuel injector relay or fuse in the fuse box.
if you tie into the switching voltage side of the relay it is lower amps, less chance the switch would fail due to not being able to handle the current.

But.. Ya.. Why would you need a Fas switch on a Prius? the car can cut the Ice it's self.

The Hymotion L5 kit doesn't get rid of the Prius design for the ICE to run above 34 mph. A few days ago I pulled the 15 amp EFI fuse and now the car is running around happily in EV-only mode up to 45+ mph. Trying to drive around keeping it below 34 mph was a royal pain.

Hi Joe:

___This is one of those really silent hacks and you should be good for upwards of 52 mph with MG1 spinning its tail off but the ICE will not be spinning over.

___Jud Engels (Bestmapman) should be home from the Detroit gathering shortly and will help you out soon enough.

___Good Luck
