Had to go to Rosemont, IL for business. Left the night before and disciplined myself to 60 MPH until encountering the Dan Ryan in the evening (9pm CST) ... It really wasn't that bad as I headed out to the Western 'burbs', but did slow down a bit at times.

The next day - Rosemont to Downtown was a bit slow and of course the typical downtown traffic kicked in around N. Wacker. After my appointment, I headed down to Lakeshore Drive which was at a typical crawl and the Dan Ryan in the heat of rush hour was pathetically slow, around 10MPH avg... Once I hit the Skyway - Indiana Toll road, I-94 and then I-96 traffic was flowing nicely. Encountered about 45 mintues worth of rain and then it cleared up... Cruise was set at 60MPH.. Didn't make too many friends along the way.

Anyway, considering the traffic patterns along the way, 32.856 US MPG for the trip wasn't too bad.

Hi Kevin:

___Not bad at all and you had a really nice overall segment in and amongst Chicago's finest!

___The next time you are that close, get a hold of one of us … I am just a hop skip and a jump from Rosemont myself! You would not believe what a short clinic with a scan gauge attached can do to really make a non-hybrid sing.

___Here is the Acura MDX (EPA 17/23) just tooling around the far northern burbs the other day running errands as just one example.

___I hope you catch my drift as to what you are going to wring out of the Buick when we get done with your CleanMPG training ;)

___Good Luck and keep up the great work.

___Wayne

Did not know about the Scan Gauge. Very interesting, I may have to get one!
Chicago is part of my territory, so I do venture over there frequently. It would be great to meet some folks from here.

I'll post some photos of the Buick later. It's only a Buick, but it's my current ride and I plan on running it up to at least 170K as I did the Park Avenue before it.
