Note: The NFL Coach of the Year is chosen strictly on the regular season

Jeff Fisher has everyone asking "Vince who?"

Mike Smith turns a terrible team, a rookie quarterback, a new running back, and an odd collection of free agents into a contender. I don't like the Falcons, but I think he did the best coaching job this year.

Although John Harbaugh at Baltimore would be a close second, but he at least started out with a great defense.

Did everyone forget about Dungy? The Colts were writen off at the beginning of the season and now they're in the running again. We had so many big names out and we are still hammering on.

I voted for Mike Smith, but it's hard to say where they might have been if they didn't have Matt Ryan and Michael Turner.

Would like to have voted for Tony Soprano (yeah, I know it's Sparano) of the Dolphins, but I think the turnaround is largely due to Bill Parcells.

I might also have nominated Jim Zorn of the Redskins, even though their season is faltering, he's made believers out of a lot of people again, and he puts up with Dan Snyder.

Lastly, let us not underestimate the contributions of Rod Marinelli in Detroit. He has people here wishing for the days of Wayne Fontes...

...not to mention that Marinelli and the Lie-Ons have made people appreciate the old-time days of radio...

Typically, the Coach of the Year takes a really bad team from last year into the playoffs. That tends to rule out Tony Dungy (Colts) and Jeff Fisher (Titans) a little bit.

The two most likely choices seem to be Mike Smith (Falcons) and Tony Sparano (Dolphins)....I rule out Ken Whisenhunt because the Cardinals don't have much competition in their division..

Falcons have already clinched the playoffs, but the Dolphins might win the AFC East this weekend. Both teams were horrible last year.

Jim Zorn had a great start, which ironically started speculation he could get fired for the late-season slump - he should get at least a one-year reprieve.

Delta, I am starting to think you have something against my beloved Colts. Leaving them out in the Super Bowl pick. This poll, I think there is one other instance of you "forgetting" the Colts, but I am too tired to find it. :D

Smith edges Sparano by 1 vote for Coach of Year (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28493629/)

Arthur Blank must be one of the happiest guys in America....last year he suffered all of Michael Vick's legal problems and suspension from the NFL, then Pitino leaving a resignation note without bothering to face his owner and team. Now he has a great new coach and a young quarterback that their new GM says reminds him a lot of a QB of his old team (http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=503015).
