Temps near 100 and eating lunch at a Sonic drive in do not bode well for high MPG tanks. After having to sit idling while my wife and I ate lunch the other day due to the oppressive heat, my tank MPG was down to 40.9 with 150-200 miles on the tank. However, I've made a pretty good recovery the last couple of days, using some mild DWL, using CC, and climate control on Auto at 72. I now have 300+ miles on the tank, and am up to 45.0 MPG for the tank. At this point, I can only imagine what my tank would be like without having had to sit idle for 15-20 mins at Sonic!

Finished this tank this morning. At fill up, the display read 46.6 mpg, but hand calculation was 47.3, so I'm really pleased that I was able to resurrect this tank. If I hadn't had to do all the idling, my guess is I may have had my first 50 MPG tank. Just have to wait and see how this tank does. I'm sitting around 55MPG over the trip to work this morning, but I'm sure that won't hold up.

Every little bit helps. Sure, you may not be able to hold 55, but enough of those during a tank sure help.
Good luck on 50 this tank. If your will is strong I know you can do it!
