I saw her (http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/12/majel-roddenber.html?cnn=yes) back in 1996.

If it was easy, I'd do a Star Trek screensaver on my Insight - DocWillie might have this one figured out.

Lwaxana Troi was my favorite role that she played. In the other roles, she had always been so stiff/serious. I enjoyed the flamboyance on Lwaxana.

It is a sad Trek time. The end of an era really. When Gene died it hurt, but with both of them gone ... :ccry:

She did record her part by Dec 4 for next year's Star Trek movie - I expect the credits to have her name: 1932 - 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majel_Barrett)

Digital technology might allow her to continue as the voice of Star Trek computers forever. :)

Let's hope. Digital tech is amazing.

It is indeed a sad day in the ST world.:(:ccry: I beleive she will always be the voice of ST computers with today's technology. It wouldn't be right any other way. Offhand, does anyone know how many of the original cast members are left?

You do realize that didn't come true until the passing of James Doohan right?

As a programmer, I often feel called to do the impossible - just like Scotty.

Right before the warp core "blooooooooows" to quote Scotty.

I think all of us programmers feel that way a little too often.

A cam of an Insight with the tach and Assist pegging as the transmission hum they use as the Enterprise pushes Warp 10 is deafening

:D

Perhaps the Honda engineers used ST displays as their design inspiration ;)

The actor that played Spock's father

I believe his name was Mark Lenard.

I went to a few Star Trek conventions. Had the pleasure of meeting DeForest Kelley. He was a cool guy.

Sorry to hear about Majel passing away.

Anyone remember the ST:Voyager episode Tom Paris tells the senior staff: "If we get any lower on dilithium we are going to have to push?" :D

Ah yes, I do remember that one. They were always coming up with ways to conserve on power. If only they could have had Wayne on board to show them how to hypermile a star ship: Pulse up to Warp 7 and glide back to Warp 4. Oh, and don't forget the death-turn around the nebula.:D

Then there is the Bajorian wormhole in ST: Deep Space Nine
