If you're talking about a firewall, I use Zone Alarm Free. (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,7228-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html) I've used it for about 5 years on the multiple computers in our home as well as recommending it to friends and co-workers.

Or do you mean one of those anti-shoulder-surfing visual screen
filters that direct the light in exactly one direction?

I should rephrase the subject as: "Which one could be as or more effective and least expensive then the 3M Privacy Filter"? Are there cheaper but as effective alternatives on ebay?

I need one for my Toshiba notebook "A135-S4637" with its 15.4 inch LCD and wondered if this could also be used on a typical 15 inch foot desktop monitor?
