On the way to HybridFest 2006, I was going on I55, which weaves just west of the Mississippi River until reaching St. Louis

About 7pm July 21.
The Arch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_National_Expansion_Memorial#The_Gateway_Arch)is 660 feet above the ground and constructed of stainless steel. Eight gondolas take you up in four minutes. Don't worry - you don't get to see the view on the way up. The trip down is only three minutes. The top is like being in a narrow-body jetliner looking at St. Louis during the final approach.

Interesting factoid there:
"Human population increases 1.7% annually - car population 5%"

Facing West from the top of the Arch, looking NorthWest. The Edward Jones Stadium where the St. Louis Rams play is visible.
