I am a HCH I owner from 2004. I currently have 23000+ miles and a current calculated lifetime average of 47.7 (I will input all my info as soon as I can). I have a bad commute for my HCH, it is only 6 miles one way with many hills. I work hard in the summer to pull my average up so I might be able to get through the winter with an MPG above hypermiler minimums.
I found this site when I was on another Hybrid website and noticed a name I knew had started a new site. I don't visit the other site much anymore because it does not seem as "fun" as it once did. I am glad to see that this site looks to have inherited the same spirit I remember in the other site.

Hi Billyt1963:
___Welcome aboard and it is nice to hear from you again! I hope you find this site as interesting as the old days and with that, many here try and keep the conversations as open and fresh as they ever were ;)
___On another note, I do not know if you remember Tiger Honaker (Terry) but he lives down in your neck of the woods. We were talking about you as another one who might have enjoyed the ride up the Hybridfest last month. There is always Sebring next February and then Hybridfest again next July in case you were to consider a vacation with old friends and new acquaintances.
___Good Luck and welcome as I am hope you will find CleanMPG as comfortable as putting on a pair of comfortable slippers before reading the Sunday morning newspaper ;)

Welcome to CleanMPG!
While we take FE seriously, we still have fun. :D

I think I remember. It seems as if he lives a couple of hours away.
I would like to keep up with events. With a child entering High School and a wife that works, I do have to perform Dad duty every now and then.
As a side note, Wayne, we were up your way a few weeks ago. Our family vacation this year was in Chicago. We stayed downtown and enjoyed the city quite a bit.
Talk to you again soon.

6 miles with hills... that can be a good or bad.
when you give us more details on your commute, you might want to pull out a map of your commute as well. Look at the roads, learn which ones you can go on to minmize impact on fuel economy, this can include lights, stops, speed limits, how busy the street is and hills.
Well if you go uphill, you can go down right? at least the loan you lent out to your car will be repaid in almost full when you go down that hill again :D
welcome.
