I'm scared of this question, but what are the drag numbers on an '02 Ranger?
Anyone know of a site I can get to to compare different vehicle numbers?

According to the website (http://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/2001_ranger_1.html), the 01 Ranger has a Cd of 0.49.

Many thanks!
My next question...
What is the cheapest/easiest way to improve this on my truck (<$300)?

Have you done the basics such as max air in tires, synthetic oil, fresh oil in rear end and transmission, fresh tune, air cleaner and the very necessary Scangauge? I would spend money there first and then go to other mods as needed. Slowhands can max mileage in a Ranger and I'm sure he will chime in.
Many thanks!

Doing everything I can right now. This was specifically about the drag coefficient.
And the Scanguage will be a purchase very soon.

The cheapest and simplest aeromod that noticably reduces Cd is a grill block. Beyond that an aerodynamic bed cover and an air dam or underbody panelling are good at reducing Cd. It you want to go all out, take a look at Phil Knox's Toyota T-100, at the following link for additional ideas.

so the consensus is that my truck bed cap (typical one you see, nothing custom) is better than having an open bed?
the thing weights about 150 pounds, but i figure the saved wind resistance outweighs the added weight. Or does it? I would love to see a weight/wind resistance graph. since its better to roll the windows up over ~35mpg, should i take my truck cap off if im driving around town, and put it on for extended hwy trips?
info: 93 Ranger 2wd 3L v6, bed cap and yakima rack; averaging 16-17mpg with basic hypermiling techniques.
let me know what you think.
