HOT, HOT, HOT, This tank is shot!!!

The heat is awful here now. With record morning low/highs and brutal afternoon's its awful.

Folks are raging and doing really stupid stuff. Wrecks are everywhere.

In the mornings Im able to get my normal 52/54 mpg segment in for 42 miles.

The afternoon has turned into a circus. Ive seen the bird more than ever. Folks lay into horns so long and hard the horns fail. Stoped in a local Auto Zone yesterday. They were sold out of standard replacement horns. Being in the far right lane or middle lane has not been safe at all. SUV, Van and PU drivers have been tangling, balling up and landing on the side of the road in wrecked heaps. Folks just cant merge for love or money.

Im getting about 35 mpg on my afternoon segment now. I hit a on ramp and go! Pick my hole and shoot it into the hammer lane and not look back. Turn the A/C on and try to get home without a wreck or hitting a semi's thrown cap.

Im not comphy with this and I dont like the read outs on the SG at all. Theres no other route's. Driving off into Tulsa surface streets is grid lock and hwy routeing is very clear.

I will be soooo glad when fall hits. Suppose to be 107F here today. Not record temps. You can sure see the added stress of the high temps on folks as they move about.

Ive been able to keep my sanity. But its required a huge hit on my mpg and another set of driving skills.

Yikes. The way you describe Tulsa traffic it almost sounds like you would be safer in Beirut.

Many years ago, my Spanish teacher said "I visited Tulsa and it was so great that we almost moved there." Sounds like a whole lot of other people got the same idea at the same time and followed through?

I call Tulsa a little Big City. It has culture, class and is fairly clean looking. But its not the Tulsa of the past. Many of the locals see it. And its not good. Its kind of a hidden cross roads in the world if you will. It has a Int. Airport and there are folks from all over the world here.

The traffic is nothing like Dallas or Kansas City. But in a city that over all hasnt been plauged with traffic problems they are now coming. And in a big way.

With the influx of people in the area as a hole its gotten alot worse just in the last five years.

Why is the heat causing them to get so nuts on the road?

Dont knoe hobbit.

It was even on the news last night and this morning. Yesterday it was 107F.

This morning its rained a little bit. Folks still wrecking. All the oil and road griem floating up and off they go,,, grazing thru the medians, shoulders. And the wonderful game of bumper cars. LMAO

There have been a ton of commercial HVAC failures in the last three weeks and I think thats taking it toll on office, plant, hospital and other workers. Ive been none stop busy, selling, building, rebuilding pumps and there support systems for chilled water systems. I know its taken a toll on me. I think the work place as a whole is getting more stressful, atleast around here. Couple that with the heat and all the other problems people have they are starting to snap in there cars.

I think alot of it is tied to work myself. Folks are getting out on the weekends. I havent seen a change in traffic patterns on weekends. And folks seem to be nicer and more under control.

I know in my work place and others are seeing this. The owner bought his wife a 10k dollar diamond, a new BMW and his 16 year old daughter a new Mustang this year. But we arent making any money so no bounes. Well for 98% no bounes. Im getting a small one. Folks in my office are spitting mad about it. I know for a fact this is happening all over Tulsa. It seems to be a joke here now. No companys make any money but the doors never shut, nor do the chains come out to chain them shut.

Theres a gang war in North Tulsa going on and alot of stuff going on over on the east side of town.

It would seem theres alot of socal, economic, and work related things going on right now thats pushing peeps over the edge. Throw in the heat and that makes for a disater.

Our company has been reporting record profits the last 4 or 5 years. Our raises have averaged about 2%. We did better when they weren't making record profits.

BTW, our health care (as well as everyone elses in the country probably) went up by 30%.
