Joe Lieberman is a cleanMPG member. lamebums 11-02-2008, 07:08 PM At this rate I am leaning towards McCain being president. I don't trust the polls because apart from the blind sheeple on campus I have a hard time finding Obama supporters (I live only five minutes from Cincinnati... Ohio being a swing state). Not that it's going to do us any good. I am willing to bet any amount of money that both Obama and McCain would ram through HR 1022. Democrat Congress... tempted to say they pick up five to ten seats. Democrat Senate... thinking 55 or so, maybe 57. There's enough liberal Republicans (Kyl, McCain, Graham, McConnell, etc.) for the Democrats to get the sixty votes they need on stuff important to them, though. Thinking that state and local governments will still be controlled by the GOP... especially those that don't turn around so quickly. State Senates, some governor's posts, that sort of stuff, if in GOP hands, will remain firmly so. mparrish 11-02-2008, 07:31 PM Obama by 9. Dem Senate 59-40 with Georgia runoff in December Dem House 267-168 ILAveo 11-02-2008, 08:51 PM There's only one way to explain the one vote for "split Senate". Joe Lieberman is a cleanMPG member. The Senate's rules make 60 the threshold for controlling it, so I would consider 59-40 a split. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
