Well I am back from my vacation, and the HCHII performed wonderfully! Loaded down with luggage, 3 adults, and my little 16 month old, I got 46 mpg on the tank from Memphis to just outside of Mobile, AL. From Mobile to Perdido Key and driving around during the week, I got just under 48mpg, and from Perdido Key to Grenada, MS, I got 48 mpg with my cruise at 72mph for about 80% of the trip, and again loaded down with luggage. I crossed the 3500 mile barrier while I was gone, so I may be starting to see the next jump in FE. I'm really pleased with the way the car handled the trip.

Hi WBurke:

___Very good FE for those kinds of speeds, high loads, w/ A/C and all in a brand new car! Now about those speeds … we need to talk ;)

___Great to hear you are enjoying your HCH-II. Besides the pricey AH and Lexus hybrids, I love its comfortable character and road feel.

___Good Luck

Perhaps 3 lashes with a wet fuel receipt?:D Not too shabby though, good numbers.

Remember, I had a 16 month old toddler in the car...with that far of a drive, I had to keep those speeds up to get home quickly, for Daddy and Mommy's sanity!! :D

Congratulations!

That was about a 800-mile trip?

Actually, about 540 miles each way...almost 1100 round trip. Still a LONG drive....

Wait 'till you have two teenagers; you'll probably want to drive faster yet.
