View Full Version : here's avg driven FE pcs0snq 10-02-2008, 08:36 PM http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/nozero lightfoot 10-02-2008, 08:41 PM Cool. It suggests that the people that whiz past me in their Prii aren't getting the mileage they could be getting, based on what people here manage from their Prii! Of course there's no way of knowing if this is a random sample, apparently it's just people that post to that website. lightfoot 10-03-2008, 05:43 AM I'd say this is typical of NORMAL driven ones if you toss out the top and lower 5% I'd rather not use the word "NORMAL" because it implies that what we do is "ABNORMAL". And because "NORMAL" changes over time. Certainly what is considered "NORMAL" driving on the roads has shifted massively over the past 10-15 years. Maybe "TYPICAL" would be a better word to convey the meaning?? Or possibly "DWT" ("Driving Without Thinking")??? This 45mpg mean fits in nicely with the 45mpg the reporter got on the Chicago-to-NYC run last summer, though that was almost all highway. It's useful to have this number as a kind of rough baseline to compare to what can be done using the methods described here. groar 10-06-2008, 05:44 PM With my old diesel, my last tank was at 52mpg (and still improving ;) , ie 120g/km of CO2. With their 45mpg, they are at 127g/km of CO2... So, who need an hybrid ? Kidding of course. I would like a true hybrid conceived to stop the engine (the thermal one) when it's not needed. Denis. lamebums 10-06-2008, 08:19 PM I'm actually impressed. I thought the Priuses I see every day hauling ass were getting less than 40 MPG. (They may still do considering only those who actually care about their mileage would be bothered to log it.) vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
