Hey everyone. I been hypermiling for about 5 months now. Started after i read an artical I found on MSN. I bought the car in august of 2007, traded my old 2000 buic centery in. The first time i tested the gas millage i was very happy that i was getting 38 in the yaris as oposed to the 24 i was receving in my older car. The best gas millage that i have ever receved is 48mpg. i got this number driving from oregon to calafornia down the i 5 using some of the more extreme hypermiling skills, and partal grill blocking. I am real thrilled about being part of the web site, and was just wondering if anyone else had some good mod ideas.

Welcome to CleanMPG, dgun. You're off to a good start with the Yaris. One of the simpler mods you can do is adding a front grill block. This helps the car warm up faster (especially useful in cold weather). I wouldn't recommend doing this without a way to monitor the coolant temperature though. Have you got a ScanGauge? It's a great tool for keeping an eye on your fuel economy, and it can also monitor your coolant temp, air intake temp, and battery voltage.
