I believe this is my best segment coming home from work last night.
If not my best then still darn good for me.
I had to make a Walmart stop and pick up 50lbs of Jasmine rice and 6 cases of coke 1/2 way through the trip!
FAS, correct parking and then leaving the parking lot by accelerating EXTREMELY lightly helped to keep the MPG reasonable. 3:00AM traffic helped alot.

This afternoon's trip back to work got 71 point something on the dash. That's about 7 better than usual.

I think it is a combo of the car breaking in and taking it a bit slower compared to previous numbers.
I'm also keeping engine load as light as possible over the 1st 10 or so miles for warm-up.

76.4MPG over 49.1 miles.

:Banane35: Wow! Cheers to you! The amazing thing to me is that you did that after stopping and picking up additional weight. Im not worthy, I'm not worthy....

This one was done last night and a little better than the night before but couldn't quite get it over 77.
No stops on this one.

Since it is better than the other one, just thought I'd toss it in.
Thank you all for the encouragement! :)

I really am not doing anything too much more drastic than I already have been which makes me a bit confused. Today I parked back at work with 72 point something on the dash.

I'm going a bit slower, and last night I was going ~52 in a 55 limit in the far Right lane and a big truck came up fast and flashed his lights on the approach.
Well I had no where to go so I held a steady speed. As he passed he blew his horn. (And I blew my air horns too!) Guess he must have heard them cuz he moved back into my lane, then slowed way, way down like I was going to get mad or something.

You and I know that he was actually doing me a favor! :)

That's the first time I've ever seen this on the road, exept the two days I had that sticker on my rear bumper so guess I'm doing good anyway.

We all know there's some days when our gas burns with less energy than the next day and I'm trying to figure out why.
I bring one of those portable Radio Shack weather boxes which shows humidity, temp and if the pressure is rising, steady or falling. I don't know if any info will be conclusive but so far on these great MPG days I've been having I start out at 55-70% humidity and about 95 degreese. I park and it says 104 degreese and about 45% humidity.
I keep it in the covered cup holder so would indicate cabin statistics.

I'll have to wait for some not-so-good days to compare data.

Thanks for the encouragement about the 1,000 mile tank but really think I blew it last Friday when I filled and drove it hard ~65MPH in a hurry to reach the airport for Madison.
Although filled past click-off was not quite to the rim. :(
